Why get upset?

Gets my goat that people get upset when they know they should not. For example when you watch Pawn Stars and people try to sell something after being told that retail price is blah blah and they are offered much less. They tend to forget that #1 they are in a pawn shop. And #2 that they are selling to someone who needs to make money off what they are getting rid of. Now to keep this gun related. Was reading another thread about someone getting upset because they could not sell a firearm to a gun shop for what they thought it was worth. Again look at the above 2 rules. Granted that a new SW9VE in my area after taxes was $330 now if I was to either take it to a gun store or pawn shop should I get lets say $250 ? No #1 it is used over 1,000rds through it ( even if it has 1 round through it ...still used) . And again we need to look at the above rules. Now as suggested in other threads by other members if you want what you are asking or close to it they sell it on your own.
 
Some people have a hard time remembering that businesses like pawn shops or any shop that buys and sells used items need to make a profit. They are not going to buy an item that is worth 500 for 500 dollars and sell it for 500 lol.
 
Case in point. I had some equipment for making ink pens I bought for over $500 but when I sold it I got $100 at a local pawn shop . Going by the rules posted above #1 used #2 I was at pawn shop #3 they have to make money off them. I could have gotten upset but why?
