Does anyone know why HK wouldnt want to start manufaturing in the U.S. then they could sell new SR-9's, HK91's, PSG1's etc. and the new G36. I want a G36 really really reallly bad but not one of those thumbhole imports they are releasing I want the psitol grip one! If they manufatured in the U.S. they wouldnt have to go through all the importation Bull S**t.

Honestly? I think it's because H&K knows their name would get screwed if they did.

There have been several European gun manufacturers that moved operations here and for some reason the quality is just not the same. i.e. Walther, Baretta

I see your point but in a way I jope they stay where they are.

It's economics. Their major marketing is to military and law enforcement, mostly foreign, all uneffected by US laws, taxes and restrictions. It makes little sense for them to open a major facility for civilian product here when that represents such a minute share of their profit line. They don't see anything in the near or distant future that would change that opinion.
