Why does the ATF Restrict Benelli ???

I was very interested in the Benelli H20 for a limited use HD gun . Wanted the nice 3 shot extension offered with them (Well USED to be offered with them :mad: )

Called my local shooters supply and was told the ATF has restricted sales of BENELLI Mag Extensions to law enforcement only.

WTF? :confused:
 
You cant legally extend the beneli to beyond a 5 round tube magazine. They cant be imported that way and cant be modified that way unless you reduce the total ATF countable listed parts.

The remington you can have a 30 round tube mag legally if you wanted to.
Beneli has more than 10 listed parts and im not sure anyone makes compliance parts to reduce the count enough to be able to legally add a magazine extension past 5 rounds. Extensions exist and are sold after market but as soon as you put one on your imported shotgun your a felon according to the 1968 GCA law.
Unless your a law enforcement officer with a government owned shotgun from your dept.
Importable shotguns can only have 5 round tube magazines.
Adding extensions to make it more than 5 rounds violates 922 and welcomes you to an all expenses paid trip to CLUB FED (prison)
Benelli no longer offers magazine extensions because the ATF realized that most people were not going to reduce the benelli total foreign parts to 10 in order to add the magazine extension.
 
No kidding ???

I'm finding a bunch of manufacturers that are offering aftermarket extensions.

They can make em for Benelli's but they're illegal to install ? :(

Years ago there were gunshow dealers selling autosears between $100 and $200 to convert an AR15 or AK into a machine gun. Last year I thought I remember seeing in Shotgun news as someplace still offering them. The delema is you cant make any new civilian transferable machine guns in America after 1986. But some people would say, dude if someone sells it it must be legal to use.
 
I might understand if we were talking about buying Russian Guns during the cold war and you weren't a USA citizen or from North Korea or some such .

But we're talkking about ITALY for godsakes :cool:

So we can have Remingtons with 50 magnum shells in em . but we can't have a very comparable Benelli imported from an allied country , with more than 5 shells?

THAT is the definition of a dumba$$ law.
 
Gun laws are useless. Only the lawabiding follows them.
Ive never heard of a criminal that cared to stay legal as far as the use of guns. The fact that you arnt suppose to carry a handgun in a bank has not discouraged bankrobbers from doing so. Its a price the upright members of society pays for allowing anti-gun liberals to remain in government.
The ability of a jury to add on an extra charge against a criminal isnt worth the restriction to the law abiding.
