Why did S&W not try to get out of its HUD agreement while Bush was in office?

Has anyone heard anything about this? It would seem to me that Bush might have at least been open to discussion about letting Smith and Wesson out of the HUD agreement.

Bush is not a Conservative. He could be more accurately described as a moderate Democrat or a RINO. Spending under Bush has further enslaved our children to pay for wasteful entitlements.

Yes, I agree, but certainly there would have at least been a chance at it. After all, under Bush, the agreement has not been enforced, so he must not think much of it.

Under Obama though, the agreement will undoubtedly be continued, and actually put into effect.

Topic comes up periodically. A number of threads exist explaining why S&W didn't challenge in court. A search of TFL may well result in a few informative threads. IIRC we even had a few genuine lawyers chirp up explaining the legal mumbo jumbo.
