who would you use to install a new barrel?

I have a mauser 98 action i want chambered in 7mm-08 and i don't have a good smith to do it. who would you recomend. and what barrel?

Daniel W Cowen Riflesmith 224 Wells Ave S, Renton, WA 98057. Might be a little far from ou but IMHO worth it.
If he can't do it he will either refer you to someone who can or tell you why it shouldn't be done. Does superb work.

Don't know how far you are from Yakama but Check out Shooters Supply, run by Don Manning. Use to build match rifles for the NG. The rebuilt & re-barreld my M1A. Does excellant work.

I put a Shilen varmint barrel on 700. Dang it shoots nice.

Rebarreling two mausers soon, not gonna spend the money like I did for the 700. Most likely will use Brownell barrels.

But Ill be doing these, myself.

There is a great smith in Tacoma, even further than Renton.
