I am getting so sick of the media making a big thing about this man for VP is a Jew or this one is black or this one is Spainish or what ever.I thought this was America and everyone that is a citizen is a American.
I could care less where a politions ancesters came from.The only thing I care about is what he or she stands for.
If that person happens to be (fill in blank) and does not get elected I resent the media saying that is because he is_____.He did not get elected because he didn't represent the voters.I allso hate people voteing for a person because he is(F IT IN) and not because he is the best man for the job.
Thats my rant for the day.

If the populace is divided into special interest groups and hyphens they are less likely to unite in oposition to the festering oligarchy.
 
It's really not that interesting that he's a Jew so much as the fact that he's an Orthodox Jew.

I've known one Orthodox Jew in my life and its a heck of a commitment (which is why there's so few of them). There's whole bunches of rules to follow on just about everything. There are also hard, well defined lines about what is right and what is wrong. Lieberman has conveniently modified most of what he's said over the years regarding moral issues so I'm thinking he's probably chosen his party over his faith (from what I understand, it is IMPOSSIBLE to be a pro-choice Orthodox Jew).
 
I don't really care what he is or who they are! I'm still not going to vote for them! ;)

I was channel surfing last night, and caught part of a show called "Great Conventions" or something like that. Think it was the History Channel.

They were talking about 1960, when Kennedy's Catholicism was a HUGE issue for a lot of people early on.

"The Pope will be running the country, don't you know..."

Cripes.
