It's not a waste of time, that's for damn sure. My reps even occasionally write me non-form letter responses.
They even e-mail me when they are going to put out a spread of free chow for whatever event they may be throwing. Now that's representation I can get behind... free crawfish and beer.
What is this legislation GOA is talking about? I had not heard of this before.
This was not a clause regarding Gun Rights groups. It referred to all "watchdog" groups with audiences of 500 or more. While it was a very dangerous precedent, it hardly was directed at Gun Owners and we were hardly the reason why it was defeated.
Still, the point remains: Cards and Letters DO work sometimes.

Sorry, this is what the bill was about. It is from the NRA site, but it is the same bill.
Rich, why is this not regarding gun rights groups? It is a bill that was trying to sqeulch the first amendment rights of so called "lobbyists", so I think it has a lot to do with gun groups. Though, I agree that gun owners groups were not the sole reason that the bill was defeated.

No argument here.
But the GOA release would have you believe it was Gun Owners vs DiFi. It wasn't and, to the extent we express that it was, we only look uninformed.
It's a good thread and an important point. I wasn't urinating ice water here.

I got the word from GOA and Downsize DC. Two diverse groups that has a similar stake in the matter. It's wonderful when grassroots groups all work in unison to beat bad legislation.
