"If I can take one gun and throw it into the molten lava, that's one gun that won't hurt anybody."

And even if the playground equipment is made only partly of guns, the symbolism of converting an instrument of destruction into an implement of play is what matters.

I hope all this anti-gun garbage Philly is using as a distraction from it's real problems doesnt work it's way up here. I dont know what scares me more about being in the suburbs, the fact I live so close to it all, or the fact their politicians might influence people in the rest of my state.

drop the author of this a line...I did

"I was saddened to read your editorial regarding the melting of guns into playground equipment.

The closing comments regarding "trigger, bullet, and bullseye.." struck me as particularly ironic. It seems that marksmanship is not only a wholesome family sport, but also is an Olympic sport.

I would hope that former Olympiads would not take your editorial as swipe at the medal that they have won, nor future champions allow you to discourage their pursuit of a noble goal."

Many states have a predominantly rural landscape with large urban areas. The urban population often dominates state policy. It can really stink for country folks.
