Realizing that Ithaca Gun Company manufactured the original M6 Aircrew Survival Weapon exclusively for government sales, followed later by Springfield Armory releasing 3 slightly altered civilian versions (M6 Scout etc). (the last of which were outsource-manufactured by CZ but marketed by Springfield), I am left wondering;

Who actually owns all of the rights/blueprints/patents/tooling related to the original M6 Aircrew Survival Weapon? (I realize much of the tooling has likely been destroyed, but surely the original blueprints and patent papers etc all still exist?)

Did Springfield buy out everything from Ithaca? Does the U.S. government still own anything? (did they ever?)

I've seen many a blueprint online, but I don't think i've ever ran across the full blueprints for the M6 Aircrew Survival Weapon.

Curious what everyone might know about the original versions ownership status etc these days. Who's got these blueprints hanging in their mancave? haha.

Just a guess but I am thinking the patents expired and were not renewed. The gun was never successful commericially due to the registration requirements.
