They don't seem to be very popular but who owns and hunts with either an original or one of the newer Winchester or Browning Model 95 leveractions? How do you like it? What kind of accuracy do you get? Have you taken any game with yours?
I have come up with both a new USRAC Winchester and when I saw it just could not resist and also bought a used Browning Mod. 95 a few days ago. MY Winchester has Ashley peep sight and post front on it and the Browning still has the factory semi-buckhorn and gold bead up front. Both are in 30-06. I am getting about 2 1/2" groups at 100yds with both rifles. I am planning on hunting with one of them quite a bit this year.
Anyway I was just thinking and in the past when ironsights were the norm, I believe that my choice of rifles would have been a Winchester 95 if one could have been had. They were really just a pretty darn good rifle in my opinion and my Browning without the new safety on it is fast becomming one of my favorites.
