Who owns a Beretta PX4 subcompact?

I've been reading about carry guns, mostly J frame sized revolvers to use as a pocket carry. I stumbled onto the Beretta PX4 subcompact and for some reason am drawn to it. I love it's size, looks, capacity and the fact it can be used as a double action for your first shot.

My wife already has a Glock 26 which I have mixed feeling about. The Beretta is so much sexier looking, has a better capacity and has the double action first shot which makes me feel better having a round in the chamber without the safty on.

Honestly its still probably large enough I wouldn't carry on my person much but would make a good car pistol to compliment a pocket j frame.

I just picked one up. it truly is a sweet shooter. I am converting mine to a g model (decocker only). I will carry it this winter. I have a full size Storm in 9mm that sees home defense duty.

I had one (40s&w) and really liked it for the same reasons you list. But one thing, a J frame it isn't! I would list it as a burly sub compact.:) Mine used to spend time as my deer hunting sidearm. I would love another one.

I wish they would make a version with the slide of the Compact and the grip of the Subcompact. That way we would get the best combination for concealed carrying and shooting.

With the Subcompact you do not get the advantages of the rotating barrel locking system.

Now I'm leaning more toward the compact model, possibly the Inox model with stainless slide. I don't see me carrying it a ton but would be great for the car. A j frame seems hard to beat to carry and conceal.

I think highly of that Compact Px4. Mine is a 9mm. The grip is just big enough for manly hands which do not like to wrap a pinky underneath a smaller grip.

The slide is long enough for the sights to allow actual aimed fire. Not as good as a target pistol with 6-inch slide, but good enough.

The trigger is a little better than the Beretta 92 series, which is not bad in itself.

The grip texture is not "grippy" enough so I had the replaceable backstrap stippled. That is certainly one of those YMMV subjects.

I shot mine today for the first time since the f to g conversion. The stealth levers are really small and were very stiff at first. I oiled the decocker and manipulated it a good bit at home to loosen it up. It broke in quite well and performed as expected at the range. One or two more trips to the range and it will likely join the rotation.
