Who makes the best AK-47?

The original AK's are from Russia(USSR) developped by Michail Kalashnikov.
The Chinese adopted it when the communism started there.

Personally I reserve AK-47 for the original

Personally I reserve AK-47 for the original, milled dust cover full auto military rifle - perhaps the question is who makes the best Kalashnikov pattern rifles?

Or am I wrong to reserve the term AK-47 to mean something specific?

Among other things I understand there are very very few transferrable true AK-47 in this country?

I'd say Robinson with their Vepr K in 7.62x39mm, or the Vepr II in .223. Krebs makes an AK inspired police rifle; The KTR-03, in .223 or 7.62mm, i can't recall which. Maybe both?

Not an AK exactly, but based on the design, would be my Vulcan Armament V-73, an American made Galil, in .223. Excellent rifle, a little on the heavy side as the Galil is, but excellent nonetheless.

P.S.: Is nonetheless one word or three? I was always terrible in English back in High School. I was always, believe it or not, shooting, when I should have been doing my homework. But I graduated nonetheless and had an absolutely lovely time in the Corps. OOH RAH!

ClarkEMyers,

Thank you for reserving the designation AK-47 for referring to the model of rifle which it denotes. Everytime I hear the local news reporting the use of an "AK-47" in a crime, I think to myself, "Wow... that's a pretty scarce weapon for some small time thug to have."
