Who makes slugs with sub-caliber pernetrators in 12/20ga?

We were talking about pistol and shotgun ammo performance in [Link to invalid post] and topic of subcaliber ammo came up. Tanks use that type of round against armor: a thin pointy "nail" of steel or tungsten encased in a soft lead or even aluminum cover. On impact, the less dense outer part sheds, penetrator keeps on going.

Does anyone know where I could find such ammo?

Oleg, you are refering to APFSDS tank amunition, SABOT for short. The portions that fall away are the sabots, and this happens shortly after the round leaves the muzzle.
In 12 bore, a good SABOT load is Winchester Supreme. This shell launches a .50cal 1oz. slug at 1550fps.

Actually, I am referring to an older version of the same, from WW2...the idea was that the penetrator was too small and unstable in flight, so it got a "ballistic envelope" which would disintegrate at the target.

What I am after is more-or-less decent performance on a soft target and at least a puncture on soft armor...what kind of shotgun ammo would do that?
