Does anyone know who makes the scopes for tThompson
Center Arms?..I would like to have one for my encore
But I would like to know the quality first.
Thanks

You can buy many differentscope mounts for the Encore. TC sells a very nice 1 piece mount with integral rings. Weaver has a standard base and rings, and Ken Light Mfg. (714)281-4193 sells all kinds of specialty mounts for hunting and silhouette shooting.
Any pistol scope of good quality shoulg work fine for you. I have a Burris 1.5-4X and a Bushnell Trophy 2-6X both of which have thousands of rounds on them with no problem. The Bushnell was around $150 and has been a great value.

Hakko or Light Optical

There's been some speculation about this on another forum. The general consensus there was the T/C scopes are made by one of two highly regarded Japanese companies: Hakko or Light Optical. These guys also make scopes for Weaver, and the higher quality (ie "Made In Japan") scopes for Bushnell and others. 99% of the Japanese scopes imported into this country not made by Pentax or Nikon (and some people think Nikon farms out their scopes to Hakko) are made by Hakko or Light Optical. Though you'll never see their brand name on a product, that's just the way of the optics business. Personally I think these Japanese Weavers and Bushnells are some of the best values in the market today. -- Kernel

A Blackpowder Recoil-Proof T/C 'scope that my friend traded for last year was marked as made in Korea. I don't worry about where T/C's stuff comes from. It's always been of uniformly good quality, and their guarantee, service and return policies are the most liberal I know of. I wouldn't hesitate to buy ANY T/C product. I don't work for them or own stock in the company.
