Who makes replacement sights for Berettas?

Howdy,

Who makes replacement sights for the Beretta 92/96? I would like to change these nasty mil-spec sights with a set of low profile adjustables. Is there enough meat on the slide to mount a dovetail front sight?

Thank.

Joe

Joe, Mec-Gar and MMC both make sights that I believe can be made to work. Bo-Mar also makes a specialty sight that could be used. I don't think there is enough material to install a front dovetail but I don't have a 92/96 in the shop to measure. You'd want a little left in the bottom of the d'tail. .015" or .020" would be enough. Maybe even less. George

You might also check out http://www.millettsights.com. I just installed a set on Terri's Taurus PT-92 and love 'em. The ones I chose are not low profile and the front mounts over (pins) the existing front sight. These are more of a target sight instead of a carry sight although they would serve that purpose I suppose. Millett has a few varieties.
