who makes folding single shot?

actually I would call it "hinged".

it breaks open in the standard way, but the barrel won't stop at 45 degrees down. it will pivot all the way down until it meets the stock on the bottom.

I think this was done for handy storage.

Does anyone know who made it? Still in production? Decent quality?

i have a 20 like that at my dads house
there is a cut out in the forarm where the trigger guard nestles into when folded
it's italian
i think beretta imported them

Thanks dz.

Beretta? That sounds expensive.

Does it work well? Any problems?

If I found a reasonably priced one, I was thinking of getting one to keep in a pack in the car trunk. 20 gauge would be fine. But I doubt if a beretta shotgun would be something I'd keep back there bouncing around in the trunk.

I like Berettas, though. I have a 96D Centurion pistol. Nice.

I think Berretta was the importer but not the manufacturer

it has an aluminum reciever

i saw one in 12 guage at a show last year for ~200 bucks

Investarm(Italian) and Stirling(by Miroku ?) do 12 and 410 single "poachers gun" here for around $250AUD. The 12 I do not recommend for heavy use as the pivot wears badly but the 410 I have is on a 12GA frame and is bullet-proof but only has an extractor when it needs an ejector to speed up a second shot.
Highly recommended as chambered in 3" MAG and slugs are ok but messy in the choke and also a good backyard(I use 3gn Greendot and 1/2oz #10 for pests etc watch for fouling after 6 shots) and car gun(full loads 14.5gn IMR4227 and 3/4oz #6 in my gun OK),

...it also fits an anorak back pocket :9(

dZ > Excellent photo! Now how does one contact the Distributor for a brochure, and list of Dealers. My Esearch turned up zip, and I'm very interested. Where is this piece manufactured? Thanks.

If you just want something for the trunk, get a NEF single shot (around $60-$100 new) and replace the fore end screw with a thumb screw so you can assemble/disassemble with out tools. You also may want to have the barrel cut down. I have one in 12 guage with a 19" barrel and a youth stock. It's very handy, but kicks like a mule on PCP.

P.S. Check the hardware store or Home Depot for screws, it's a pretty common thread.

re: companion 20g

Actually I've had one of the copies - DLG arms - I bought it from a son-in-law of a mobster over 20 yrs ago, he told me "they" used it under trench coats because it was light, folded up so nicely and had such good knock down power...sounds reasonable enough.

Just because it is a Beretta, does not mean it's expensive - most Berettas aren't - So series excepted. They made exactly what you're looking for a long time ago - they're still around, as are similar guns made by other Italian makers - they are typically some form of "garden gun" designed for compactness and pest control.......the few I have seen recently on the basic gun auction sites are reasonably priced in today's dollars

Good luck!

10 year old question, did he get one? :) my brother had an italian model cost was 50.00 waaaay back when. It folded up and did indeed fit inside a army trenchcoat pocket. Looked like the one pictured.

[10 year old question, did he get one?]

Maybe, by now, the OP's old enough to shoot. :D :D (Or, too old......) :p
