Who makes "Browning" scopes for them?

scopes, that is??? Very curious. I have a couple other Browning items which I actually find to be of decent quality for the money (sleeping bag, miner's headlamp, raingear camo pants, and regular flashlight) - wondering if their scopes might be decent.

Yes I am interested in this as well. I can't put a Browning scope on a Browning until I know who makes it. I will keep it Leupold til then (and prolly after).

I am quite sure that they are either re-labeled Burris Fullfields or Nikon Monarch's. I read once which they were, but now I can't remember.

I wish you could remember or had a link, because I've been searching, and cannot find the answer. Frustrating. I'd be really curious to know what kind of markup the Browning name alone commmands over the standard, and how quality of a scope it is.

OK, thanks Don:

Chris at SWFA ( www.riflescopes.com ) has some good info:

They are made in the same factory as the Bushnell Elite scopes. The Browning scope has a hair more eye relief . They also rate the light transmission at 93% instead of 94% like the 4200 scopes (probably a marketing ploy so Bushnell can still advertise the brightest scope made). The tube is constructed out of standard aluminum stock and the Elite uses a special alloy. The Elite also has rainguard and the Browning does not. Elites come with a $100.00 gear bag too.

So basically its a stripped down 4200 with different cosmetics. If any gun maker branded scope ever had a chance of making it.....this one is it. We just special ordered two for Hank Williams Jr. that are shipping out today.

Chris, looks to me that the Browning scopes are more akin to the 3200's when you compare the models offered, specs and the fast focus eyepiece that is on the 3200. If that is the case, I hope that they are utilizing quality optics and your not just paying for the Browning name. Maybe the Browning logo is 18K gold!!!

It looks to me like they arent worth the money. IIRC the Browning scopes i looked at were about 100 bucks more than the Elite 3200
