I put a scope mount on my pump shotgun, it's generic i know but i decided to retire my 13lb rifled shotgun for something easier on the arms, if not on the shoulder. Recoil was, well fierce, and beleive it or not, it actually bent the aluminum towers on my medium hight rings. they are cheap tasco $9 jobs, so i dont' expect much but this is really a sight to see. yea i know this is the rifle board, but i wanted to know from all you heavy magnum gun shooters, guide gun owners, etc. what kind of rings are you using. Hopefully not 100 dollar ones. perhaps steel though i dont know. You know where i'm going with this, help me out.

Burris Signature mounts are steel and have that delrin insert to grip the scope. Plus you can buy eccentric inserts so you can get within 1" of POI without touching the windage or elevation adjustments. Burris mounts will go for mid $30's or so.

FWIW I also like the new windage adjustable Millett scope mounts, very nicely made and the windage adjustment works great on Weaver-type mounts.

Consider adding a 3rd ring if you have the room on the mount :D!
