Who Makes A Great Gun Belt

I'm thinking about buying a new gun belt. The Ross that I currently own leaves its finish on everything it touches, usually my jeans.

Can anyone recommend, from personal experience, someone who makes a quality gun belt at a fair price?

Thanks.

If you are looking for a web-type belt (as opposed to leather), I have a Blackhawk Instructor belt that I have worn daily since the beginning of Nov 2006. The guy I bought it from asked if it was going to be for every day or just the range. I told him just the range so he recommended the one with the plastic insert. Turns out I like this belt so much I wear it all the time. The only thing you may not like about it is that it only comes in 1.75". Yep it's a little wide but I have gotten used to it and as a bonus the extra width keeps the top of my pants from rolling down (makes this fat boy look not so sloppy :o )

If you didn't want one quite as wide, Wilderness makes the same thing just in 1.5".

Hope this helps.

Looper Leather in Oklahoma City. Their Kydex lined leather gunbelt is by far the best Ive seen, and its less than 30 bucks.

If you want a leather belt you can go to any of the big name holster makers and they all make fine belts.

Or, you can order a belt designed to carry a gun, made of leather from a man that makes nothing but belts. Google "The Belt Man" if that's what you are looking for. He's located in Apex, NC, if that helps.

I wear one of his "Dress Belts" when I'm in a brown or taupe shade of suit, otherwise it's my black Mitch Rosen belt in a suit. When I'm in "casual" or more "normal" clothes I wear a Ted Blocker or a Bruce Gibson Belt. I'm going to add a Mark Garrity Belt soon, along with a holster

Having a good belt, designed to support a firearm is the secret to successful concealed carry IMO. Psst, I carry and N-Frame Revolver if that's any sort of a clue. Of course, a well designed holster helps too. ;)

I use a Rafter S sharkskin 1.5" - beautiful belt and does a great job. I think it was like $80-something shipped. Compared to the competition, it is a steal at that price and I couldn't have asked for higher quality. Highly recommended!

I have Galco($60-ish) and Desantis($38) belts that are excellent.

And a Bianchi($33) "dress" belt that is worthless as a gun belt--but nice enough as a dress belt.

All were purchased online at Midway.

I have a couple of the Wilderness Instructor belts. Great belts. Very comfortable and work well for both IWB and OWB. What I really like is the minute adjustments due to the buckle. You dont have to hit a hole, so if you ate a big meal or put on your long johns or extra clothes, you can easily adjust the belt to fit comfortably.

Thanks for all the replies so far. I'm planning on staying with leather and really like what the Beltman has to offer. I've seen some good reviews and coming from people who have done business with him is a good sign.
