Who is in the National Guard?

Rob, Do you mean the NATIONAL GUARD or the MALITIA? While I am not a member of the Guard (which is now part of the Federal military), I am a member of the malitia.

I am the Readiness NCO (full time active duty) for a Field Artillery battery in Southen Illinois.

Many TFL members may be members of militias, and other State forces without even realizing it, depending on the statutes of the various States.

Many of these laws go back to colonial imes and haven't been updated or changed. Illinois even used to have a Naval Milita on Lake Michigan. Rumor was that at one time they even had a vessel of some type.

I think Texas even has an organized State Militia seperate of the National Guard, for use strictly by the governor.
