I second the Actionworks. Don is a knowledgable, and equally important, honorable man. He did great work on my CCO and Officer. His shop is neat and orderly like his work.
I have sent several guns to the Action Works and had some good work and not such good work. Try Jim Stroh at Alpha Precision. He has done several guns for me and I always had good results. He presently has a CZ75B of mine fitting a Bar Sto but has done several 1911s for me also.
Question for you guys, are these 'smiths BULLSEYE people or IPSC, IDPA, pin shooter, defensive pistol 'smiths? Lavan was asking about having a Bullseye pistol done.

The number one bullseye smith (based on the number of championships won in recent years with his pistols) is Mike Curtis. Of course, he's very busy since his work is in great demand. Expect to wait at least a year to have him tune a pistol.
Ed Masaki is also very good. I don't know what his wait times are like, but he lives in Hawaii, so shipping could be expensive.
Clark does good work but I've gotten the impression that the growth of the business has hurt quality control. The one Clark pistol I've shot wouldn't function reliably out of the box and it wasn't just a break-in problem; it had to go back for more work.
As Matt said, us a top bullseye smith. Check the match records for the last five years at Camp Perry and see who the top shooters are using. Day in San Antonio and Hallock in OKC were once some of the best.
