Who here use a youth rifle regularly?

I'm 5'7" but when I was looking at a rifle for my wife I picked up a Rem model 7 youth and it felt like a rifle I'd love to carry on those long treks through the woods around here. The LOP didn't seem too short and the overall length is really handy. We might have to share one.

I still love using a .22 Cricket rifle for those treks through the woods, considering buying one for a squirrel gun but might opt for a handgun in .22lr. But those little Cricket and Chipmunk I think is another one are very accurate.

I bought a Savage model 11 youth in 7mm-08 a year or two ago, put a slightly thicker butt pad on it and it fits me very nicely. Great to carry around for miles in the woods, too! I'm 5'8" and don't have a problem with full sized rifles but youth sizes work fine for me as well.

I just picked up a Howa 2N1 Youth for just that reason. I wanted a short handy brush rifle. I picked the Howa because 1) I like Howas. 2) It has a 20" barrel. 3) It comes with both youth and adult sized Hogue overmold stocks for 39.5 and 41.5 OALs. That's handy in case I change my mind about LOP. 4) It was $520 with Leupold mounts and a not horrible cheap scope that I'll ebay for $50.

I'm a broad shouldered 6 foot Scottish Viking dimmed by a bit of French (the German nullifies this though) and I still have my youth 870. Makes a perfect brush gun with the rifled barrel and winchester supreme partition gold sabots. Where I hunt here that's all you need. ranges are usually under 100 yards my last kill being under 50 (open sights on my mosin :D fun fun fun).
