I carry my Glock 29 gen 4 and loaded with Underwood 10mm 200 XTP
Ever check to see what your split times are with that combo?
I would not tolerate that much recoil for SD ammo.
From a Glock 20: 1,261 fps / 706# KE / PF 252

5 shot averages from my pistols, ascending KE:
Glock 20 SF
Hornady 175 gr. Critical Duty @ 1,146 fps / 510# KE / PF 201
Corbon 150 JHP @ 1,276 fps / 542# KE / PF 191
Hornady 155 XTP @ 1,335 fps / 614# KE / PF 207
Glock 29 SF
Hornady 175 gr. Critical Duty: 1,077 fps / 451# KE / PF 188 (-69fps)
Corbon 150 JHP @ 1,222 fps / 497# KE / PF 183 (-54 fps)
Hornady 155 XTP: 1,278 fps / 562# KE / PF 198 (-57 fps)
My Glock 29 averages 60 fps slower than the 20.
Apply that loss to the 200 gr. Underwood load above and 1,200 fps from a Glock 29 is a reasonable estimate.
200 gr. @ 1,200 fps = PF 240
I'm challenged to get a 1/3 second average split given the criteria of both 1st & 2nd shot hitting a 6 inch circle at 7 yards from my 29 SF - ammo with a PF of ~190.
I guess if 2nd shot times don't matter, neither does recoil.
To answer the question; yes, I sometimes carry a 10mm, with one of the loads I listed.
