Who has real sights on their P32?

I read a magazine article that showed several NAA Guardian's and Secamp's with aftermarket custom sights. I really like my P32, but it needs real sights or it goes up for sale.

I'm not sure why you're hung up on super sights for the P32, it's not that kind of gun. I can shoot decent groups, rapid fire, from 10 yards. If I'm farther than that from the threat, I'll run and hide, not shoot at them with a .32ACP!

I had my NAA Guardian done with SM&A's Pocket Carry Package, they grind the pitiful sights off alltogether. Their position, which I happen to agree with, is that at the close range you should be deploying this kind of gun, sights are not all that useful.

well

If I have to draw a gun on another person, I'm having a bad day, which will only get worse if I'm the one guy in the history of the universe that needs to make a 15 yard shot with a gun that has no sights. The P-32 is extremely accurate and could use some sights, or I will sell it.

My P-32 isn't extremely accurate. My P7M10 and many other guns are accurate, but the P-32 is a point and shoot. If you need to pull it, you won't have time to aim. We are talking close-in protection and not a gun designed to be accurate. The short sight base and short barrel make this so.

You're going to be having a really bad day if you have to take a 15 yard shot with a pistol the size of a P32 REGARDLESS of what kind of sights it has on it.

The range limitation of this pistol has little or nothing to do with the sights.

Ehornad,

What kind of deal will you make me? :D

I'm with the others here, if you need a pistol with sights intended for long range... you need a different pistol.

So, what's your price for that horribly incomplete P-32? :D

Do you have the hard chrome slide?

When they chrome it they install two orange sights, one front and one rear. That's all you should need. If you don't have this, spend the $20 and have it done. If those aren't good enough, sell it to 9x19.

Regards.

I was amazed at the accuracy of my P32 with the stock sites. They also printed right on the money, which is more than I can say for the sights on my P11. On a range, with no pressure, I can easily keep all my shots in the black of a 25 yard pistol target, from 25 yards. I actually find the stock sights to be really easy to use. I agree with you, that any gun I own, must be capable of accurate aimed fire. This gun isn't intended for a long range sniper piece, but just like you said, you may be in a situation where a longer range shot is called for. Imagine yourself in one of these situations like being in a restraunt and someone comes in and starts executing people. This has happened numerous times. I would like to know that if I had a chance to stop it, I could place a shot from across the restraunt or whatever. For me the whole thing really boils down to enjoyment in shooting the gun at the range. If I can't regularly hit anything, I have no desire to shoot it. If I have no desire to shoot it, there is no reason for me to own it.
Ashley sells aftermarket sights for the P32 since you are not happy with it the way it is.

P32 not accurate...5" at 25 yards is great for something with no sites. At ever closer point and shoot protect mode distance, I'm sure that even the small 32acp has gotta hurt. Especially when it is rattling around in the person skull. Unless he's got a head smaller than 5" in diam.

On the serious side, I have heard of other p32 users nickle the slide and helps in contrast. I think they are right. Besides it looks cool. Installing sites on the p32 just defeats the perfect design that it already is...Like the others say, more than 10 yards or so and I think running is the best bet.

Ehornad: It is wise to want all you can get in a defensive handgun. All the power, all the concealability, and all the accuracy you can get. I too want decent sights on any handgun, regardless of model.

These guys who tell you "you won't need sights" are pretending to know how your life/death scenario will happen. They don't.

As 444 said, Ashley Outdoors can fix you up. They'll install a modified Glock tritium front sight on your P32, and a shallow V rear.

I'll suggest another possibility in the accurate mousegun realm. You could get a NAA 22 Magnum Black Widow 2" with fixed or adjustable sights that will shoot 1.5" groups at ten yards. Replace the bulky factory grips with those sold to fit the 22 Mag Mini revolver.

With handgun sights, as with guns, it's better to have and not need than to need and not have.
Good Shooting, CoyDog

The stock sights on a P32 are just fine for the gun's intended use. 7+1 shots within 3 inch groups at 25 feet.

All in a gun that weighs, loaded, around 8 ounces and is only 3/4 of an inch wide.

The Kel-Tec P32 is really an amazing little pistol and a bargain. When I can not carry a 9mm (K9, MK9, or G19), it is the weapon of choice, but don't try to make it out to be anything more than it is.

Putting custom sights on a P32 is like putting wings on your Toyota Corolla...you might be tempted to think that it will fly you to safety if you drive off a cliff, but you know it ain't so. Ditch the P32 if you want to shoot from more than 25 feet.

Ehornad: Some people think they know more than they do about the capabilities of the .32ACP out of a small gun. I still say that the Keltec stock sights are more than up to the task that the gun is suited for. Just because you put a 16x 'scope on your P32, that doesn't make it a 300 yard gun! :D

Thanks all for the great response!

I think I've come away with some info here.

First, the $20 HC job will greatly enhance the factory sights.

Second, some people relly think that 5"@25yds is headshot gun, NOT, but I think I get the point, at 10 yrd, it's possible.

Third, the P32 is definitely NOT a P7 for Primary carry, I have four of them, I know.

Fourth, few people realize just how accurate the P32 is with 71gn Fiochi.

Fifth, I think I'll retire the P32 to jogging duty restricted and get the slide HC.

Sixth, I like the idea of a Titium front sight, but without rear elevation to range on, it isn't much better than stock and I don't jog at night.

I don't have a P32, but I do have a Guardian. I too realize that this is not a long range gun but having said that I would want to have whatever equipment available, to give me every advantage I could have to make any type of shot I would need to make. Does that make sense? My only problem with the Ashley sights is the snagging problem. I might like to try the gutter sights that NAA offers but I don't have the $$ right now. My guardian is completely stock other than a Hogue Jr slip on, but reading this thread I might have to try to get some of those SS grip screws. I did make a shoulder holster for it from a passport rig...very cool and very easy to wear. I know..I know..your out there saying if you can wear a shoulder holster why are you under gunning yourself. I wear my Sig alot, but sometimes I like the light weight can't even feel it there, Guardian.
