Who has had work done by Gemini Customs?

Hi Guys and Gals,

I’m debating on having a 6” GP100 sent to Gemini for a few mods like throat work, target crown, endshake reduction, and possibly some action/timing work. Has anybody had work done by Gemini? If so, what are your thoughts? How does the gun perform? Pics are a bonus!

Any other custom shops you recommend that also does high quality work?

There's no such thing as "end shake". That's you and is caused by the muzzle heaviness and a lack of upper body tone. My 4", that I've had since the mid 80's and shot bullseye with for years, is muzzle heavy too. Herrett's very high priced revolver Target grips($187.50) will help.
There's no such thing as a "target crown" either. Nor is there any need for "throat work".
The only thing a GP needs out of the box is a trigger job. That's due to the fear Ruger's MBA's have of frivolous law suits.

The Front-To-Back Movement of the Cylinder is the Endshake. ... The difference between the two numbers is the amount of movement or Endshake your cylinder has, it should be between .002" and .004" on most Ruger Double Action Revolvers, other manufacturers clearances may vary.

S&W site.

I've had two Ruger SP101's done by Gemini Customs involving action work, light cylinder work, ft sight and an improved finish.

Top notch work at reasonable prices, IMO.

Since Wolf/Wilson springs and adding washers (shims) to the GP100 is about it for trigger clean up (which most would agree doesn't come close to S&W once picking up any out of the box 686), I can't see how lawyers or MBAs ruined the GP100 trigger.

Don't worry about it or that comment that it was once fabulous and is now trash. It's always been not that great. It isn't new.

An angle by itself doesn't make a "target" crown more accurate. The only thing is the difference between a bad crown and reworked crown to fix it.

If your crown is normal, no change will be seen. If it's junk, it might do something. This is an unsubstantiated theory vs actual application type thing.
