Who has a Star model B , and what do you think?

I was wondering who else has a Star model B. I purchased mine with a C&R about two years ago. I really like the gun but I have had persistant failure to eject problems. I cleaned the chamber really well, I changed ammo, I drove out the pin and cleaned the ejector etc. I could not rule out the magazine, because it seemed to happen more as the mag was loaded more, but have had trouble finding others to test. So I was interested in other people's experience. I finally found a source for parts (Mar-star) and have decided to work on this gun to get it running.

Thanks

Hello. The first centerfire automatic pistol I ever purchased was a Star Model B. I let it get away decades ago. A few years ago, Star had a production overrun of new Model Bs and I bought another mainly for nostalgic reasons. Sights were a bit bigger and this one had been "throated" and would feed about anything. Shot pretty good, too.

The bbl, slidestop, bushing were finished in a dull grey while the slide/frame were blued.

I have shot quite a few rounds through this old gun and while a full-sized pistol, I pretty much stick with standard pressure loads in it.

I had a few modifications done on mine such as the addition of Millett adjustable sights, 20LPI checkering on the front strap, refinishing, custom stocks, and bobbing the hammer.

The magazine disconnect is gone as well.

I like 'em pretty well.

Best.

Cool! Yours looks in a lot better shape than mine. The sights are o.k. for a military gun. Certainly a lot better than the Ballister I have.

It would seem that some other people have to have bought these. They are for sale everywhere!
