Who else thinks this is a good idea?

I was actually a little bit surprised I couldn't find this on the internet, it seemed like a good idea to me.

I was thinking it would be neat to have a knife that attached to a rifle stock the same way that the m1 carbine has ammo pouches on the stock. I'm not talking about a bayonet or anything tacticool, just a utility knife that secures into a nice leather sheath that straps onto any stock.

Maybe the reason this doesn't exist is because it is super easy to just carry a knife on a belt... Any one else think this would be practical?

As you say, it's just as easy to carry the knife on a belt. For some, it may have an attraction but, if you put down the rifle, you put down the knife too, making another argument for the belt sheath

But I am sure people would buy your idea, practical or not

Something that stored in the buttstock, like on an AR7,(I guess it's Henry Survival now), would be a nice survival unit.

I think it's an interesting idea not nessesrily a good one. Like most of the others I'd just as soon have my knife on my when I'm seperated from my gun. Old habits die hard though.

But if in today's world you may sell a truck load of em if you were to produce such a thing. Doesn't take good ideas to sell, sometimes outside the box is a great idea.

Make a sheath out of a pistol grip and have a boot knife in it. Tactical mall ninja hidden grip knife. So they'd have something to defend themselves with when their gun gets taken away from them.

Generally if you have to ask if it is a good idea, it probably isn't. I don't want anything extra hanging off my gun to get in the way, add unnecessary weight and mess with the guns balance.

Plus a knife is the last piece of equipment you want to lose in a survival situation. Lose the rifle, lose your knife.

I keep the 9 rounds of ammo on the buttstocks of my hunting guns ...... and always have at least one knife on me ..... what I tend to forget is the hatchet......
