Whitney Dragoon vs Dragoon - preferences?

Hi all,
I'm trying to decide whether to buy a Whitney Dragoon or a normal Dragoon (probably a No 2 version).
I have seen a normal Dragoon and 'hefted' it, but not a Whitney.
What is the general opinion; who prefers the Whitney or vise versa?
I presume the Whitney would be feel like a Walker only shorter and lighter, as it seems to have the same grips and frame.
I am personally leaning towards the Whitney.
Thanks

Yes the Whitneyville Dragoon was also known as the "transition Walker". It's made with many of the same parts. Grip, backstrap, trigger guard and action are the same.
Although the Walker and Whitneyville are two of my favorites, Dragoons in general were a better design. They have a loading lever catch, shorter cylinder holds 50 grains max ( walker is 60 ) and the trigger guard on the 3rd Dragoon is round unlike the others.
I'm not sure that anyone is making the Whitneyville anymore though. You might find a used one.
I'd say check out the 3rd Dragoon if you can't find the Whitneyville. It was the most refined of the series and the military model has notches to mount a stock if you ever want to.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Do you prefer the feel of the Walker/Whitney grips over the Dragoon.
They look to be a bit different.
I understand that Uberti make a Whitney Dragoon model which I can get.

All of Cimmaron's C&B Revolvers are manufactured by Uberti to my knowledge & I like the Whitneyville Dragoons grip because to me it gives the weapon a bit of class.
