while browsing noticed CTD has some mosins

While they have them, and at a fairly competitive price, some others have them as well.

Keep in mind the prices CTD offered us during the lean times....

yea, i just thought it might me useful, due to big five and local gun stores seem to be upping the price in my area of one to be 200-600 $

I used to buy a lot from CTD. Then they bowed to the left-wingers after the Newtown shooting and suspended all firearms sales for awhile and jacked up the price on everything else they sold. Needless to say I haven't forgot about it.

MidwayUSA gets the majority of my business with the occasional Brownell's and Natchez.

I'm not the market for a Mosin but if I were I'd either wait till somewhere else had one, or even better buy one locally for $75-100 that I can inspect before buying and is in as good or better shape as the "Good-Very Good" one you will find online.

Actually, they didn't bow to anyone. They voluntarily withdrew their existing stock so they could wait for the shortage and sell it at a premium. They did the same thing after the Virginia Tech shooting.

We should all think long and hard whether such a company deserves our support.

true i know all about the issue. just pointing out the lower cost currently on a mosin. so if you have a store that can match or be lower your good

I search for a good price on what I'm looking for, and if CTD has it, they get my business. I searched long and hard for Browning 1911-22 magazines, everywhere I looked they were around $40-$50, and out of stock, a little while back CTD had them for about half that in stock. I understand they took advantage of the shooting in a big way and I think that was wrong, I also think the massive gun and ammo hording that went on by gun owners was just as ridiculous. What I don't understand is why people don't get as angry at the individuals that would stand in line before walmart or academy would open and buy all the ammo they could just to turn around and sell it online for twice what they bought it for. Thats my unpopular opinion, and I imagine I'll be burned in effigy for it, but thats my two cents nobody asked for.

Ttarp, I think there was a fair amount of angst voiced at those profiteers as well. I know I read it several times on TFL. So your detected inconsistency is in error.

As for CTD, no thanks, I'll shop elsewhere with Midway and Natchez being my primary if the LGS can't get close enough.

And thanks to Duzell for looking out for deals.

Fair enough.

Since I live in Texas I have to pay sales tax on items purchased from CTD. I was purchasing my first firearm from them a couple of years ago and noticed the tax was .0850. Tax in Tx is .0825. So they are skimming all their customers on sales tax. Cancelled the purchase and won't buy from them for that reason along with their price gouging.

Cabalas in Rapid City SD has them for less then CTD,

J&G Sales has them for $130.

They seem to be showing up all over and prices appear to be coming down a bit.

Saw a sale flyer from cabelas, mosin's $129. Don't know it that's still valid or not.

I picked mine up from Cabela's in Buda for that price, back in October. That looked like an in-store price, as the online price (then) was $169. It may have changed since then, not sure.

i think i should make a mosin sales thread for current deals and pricings, might be a good resource than just holding the CTD sale thread...

and maybe make a current bolt, lever, pump deals thread

does that sound like a plan?

Just for laughs I checked prices the other day on a can of ammo and was surprised to find they were only fifteen bucks higher. My Texas buddies would run me back to Wash. if I tried to defend that outfit (which I feel is Lower Than Dirt). :-) Mosins are available at SOG for $119
