Red dot scope recommendations?

I am interested in putting a "red dot" type of scope on my ranch Mini-14. Probably stick with a 1x power.

Can anyone recommend for or against a particular brand or model? And maybe reasons why?

Do you know about any objective reviews of red dot scopes?
 
I just pick up a BSA red dot scope, and I am loving it. I bought it at a gun show BRAND NEW IN THE BOX for $43.00 dollars! If interested you can get one from CHEAPER THAN DIRT. Check out there web site @ cheaperthandirt.com
