Which would you keep and why?

It looks like I will be moving to a new place this coming August and due to space issues and the need to fund my undergraduate degree, some of the firearms must go. I know my collection is very small to some and not valued at much but whichever ones I do sell, the small amount should help.

Here is what I currently own:

Mosin Nagant M38
Savage Axis 30-06 3-9x40 Burris
H&R 30-30 16.5" carbine with extra 12 gauge 18.5 CB Barrel.
Mossberg 500 20" VR Accuchoke 12 gauge
Savage Mk-F with Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 BDC
Marlin 39A
Marlin 795 with Nikon Prostaff 4x32
Ruger 10/22 TD with Burris 2-7x33
S&W 637 2.5"
S&W 10-11
NAA Mini Revolver 22LR/22Mag
Ruger 22/45 Hunter
*Styer M95 Carbine
*S&W 63
*Savage 64
*Mossberg Maverick 88 24" VR 12 gauge
**3 Mosin Nagant 91/30's

I have put an * next to the ones that I think will end up being sold. I reload my own ammo and cast my own bullets but with work and school that time has not been there. Hence several 22 rimfire's in the "collection"

I appreciate the responses from everyone that decides to post. I feel like with the above list, I have more than enough to do what I'd like to whether it be hunting, home defense or just plinking.

Opinions?

I would personally keep the best one of the three Mosin-Nagants, and agree, never, ever, ever, sell your Marlin 39A. If you have to sell, you have to sell, but I have regretted selling every firearm I have ever sold, it's just a few, but I still regret it. For the money you would get for the listed guns, maybe a second job for a month would get you the bucks you need, and could help you through school even longer.

I have also only sold three or four firearms in my life of 43 years and regret everyone of them except for a trade which I came out very very good but I will not ever want to sell another. I know we all have to make certain decisions but it would be very hard.

x3 on the keep if you can. I'm an FFL (home based) and struggle every time someone walks out the door with their gun, I want one! :)

If you simply aren't shooting them, and have no real emotional connection to them, go ahead and sell. It gives you a reason to buy more eventually..."well, I sold a bunch, and now have the time/space/money to grow my collection".

It sounds like you are a stronger man then I. I would not be able to sell any of my collection due to lack of space. Is there nowhere you can store them? Like a trusted friend or famil member? My brother just got restationed in the Air Force and is having me store his stuff in my safe.

If you do have to sell part of you collection my only suggestion would be to decide what you most want to keep and in what order (1 most wanted to least cared about) then sell as you must from the bottom of that list. With smaller collections that can be a hard thing to do (this I remember from my own early one). You sell something you really love and you will kick yourself for years after selling it.

i would sell the savage axis before id sell the S&W 63. handguns take up much less room........and a savage axis wont be hard at all to replace a few years down the road with another Axis or a Ruger all american or something similar.

I would keep the S&W revolvers unless you just really want the cash for them. S&W revolvers are like Colt 1911s. Rather than depreciate in value as they get older, the price seems to keep going up.

I'd keep the 39, the S&W revolvers, the 10-22, and the 22-45. Sell the rest, buy 1 quality shotgun and 1 quality centerfire bolt rifle, call it good and put the rest in the bank.

I have to ask, how much of your undergraduate degree do you think the selling of the guns will cover??? All, 50%, 10%.
My point is selling guns is OK and in most cases the guns will be difficult to replace when you choose to do so. Why not see if another avenue is available other that departing with some of your collection.
