Which would you get on July 9? AK or lever gun?

I am having a hard time with this one. The mission is mid-range repeater and fun gun. The options are:

-AK variant in .223 (either a SAR 3 or MAK-90 etc.)

-Marlin 1894 in .44 mag.

I'm leaning toward the AK because it costs less, uses cheaper ammo (I don't reload yet) and would make the UN angry. .223 because both cheap surplus and fine hunting loads are available.

Which would you buy and why?
 
Everybody needs an AK, and they'll make those harder to get before the lever guns. AKs are fun, fun, fun...and *so* politically incorrect. The AK-47 and its variants is the weapon the Liberals hate above all others, which is already a good enough reason to get one. Ammo is cheap, and did I mention they're a lot of fun?

You can always get a lever gun, but the AKs might not be as easy to get in the near future. Get yourself an AK, and join the Politically Incorrect crowd.
 
I'd start off for the store with every intention of getting the AK, but end up with a lever gun of some sort.
 
The AK. The main reason being that as they peel away our rights, the AK will be harder to get. The lever guns won't go until after.
 
Without a doubt, the AK.

The lever guns will be available for a long, long time in all likelihood. The AK's are constantly under "assault" from the fedgov.
 
I'm sensing a consensus here....

SAR-3 in .223 ordered through local FFL. I'll post a range report when I can.
