Which varmint upper?

I want to buy a new upper for shooting coyotes. I have been looking at white oak armament. Anyone have a better suggestion? I'm thinking about one in 223, 1/7twist, and can't decide on 18 or 20 inch barrel. Probably won't be shooting past 400 yds. Want to stick with 223 since I already have a good surplus of ammo. Thanks for any and all replies.

I have a RRA ATH (1:8 18" w/ wylde chamber) and it is very accurate out to 300 yards with Prvi 75gr OTM and BH 77gr SMK's. Both WOA and RRA have lots of guys shooting their rifles out to 600 yards in High Power competitions. I think you would be well served by either maker.

same as above.
I have had the Varmint 18" and now the Predator Pursuit 16".
Both are 1/8 and love 77gr Matchkings in factory loadings.
You have a tuned or two-stage trigger?
I would suggest one.

I'd stick with a 20" HBAR profile barrel if you intend to try 400 yards much at all. The weight out front will help steady the hold and you need all the velocity you can get to initiate expansion at that range. I carry a 16" HBAR a lot during the winter. It's heavier to pack but considerably more accurate from shooting sticks than the light carbine/gov't profiles. I'm going against the popular beliefs but I don't consider the 223 as a 400 yard coyote rifle. If I expect those kind of shots, I'll go to a 22/250 or 220 Swift(maybe even 25/06 if the wind is up). In a bolt rifle, the 22/250 is way better unless you regularly call the yotes closer than 200 yards.
