Which USP for next year's tax return?

Assuming handguns are still legal in California next April, I'm already thinking of which HK I should get.
The Expert or the Fullsize?

The Expert has the long sight radius and match trigger and ambi going for it. If I get the fullsize I will get the ambi and match trigger.

1. The only thing that is stopping me from getting the Expert is that I can't swap out the sights (or am I mistaken)?

2. Is the Expert IDPA legal? And I am assuming

3. BTW are the Expert and Fullsize mags compatible? I like the look of the Expert mags with the big baseplates.

Or should I, As my dad says, "if you can't decide, get both"

You could do like I did.
First, I got my USP 45 when it went on sale. THen I ran into a LNIB Expert. Then, traded my G17 for my USPc 9, then found a demo USP 9 at a crazy price....BAM, I got one of each (that I can buy in CA anyway ;) ); Expert, fullsize (X2) & compact :D :D
Rather than plan on what you'll buy next year, just keep your eyes open for good deals and jump on them when you come across one (or at least find out if they have lay-a-way!)

From what I hear, the Expert was *designed* for IDPA. You could swap out the sites (from what I understand), and if I was going to pay $1200 for a carry pistol, I'd get one - just slap some Novaks on there and you've got a hell of a carry pistol.

Not really on topic, but if you're getting that much of a tax refund, Skunk, you need to have someone look at your finances. It's not a Christmas club. Why let the IRS hold your money interest-free like that when you could have it working for you?
