Which to choose???

I am 84 and have been using a Stainless S&W MDL 669 in 9mm SA/DA WITH a Decocker/Safety, for about 25 years for: Night stand use, casual target shooting (I can shoot on my place) and infrequent CC when I am in a "night-time " environment that warrants carrying.
I want a new 9mm that has a rail.......I want to put a green laser on it so it is more suitable for "night stand" use and also suitable for the occasional CC and my occasional target shooting.
I also occasionally shoot a Sig 1911 C3 and a Colt SAA in .45 Colt, just for fun.

I am torn-between:...Walther P99-SA, in 4" 9mm, a S&W mod.2 in 4" 9mm, and a PPQ M2
4" 9mm.
I welcome any: comments, suggestions and opinions.....I need your help.....Thanks.

I highly recommend you rent those before buying. One person may say how wonderful a gun is but it may not be what you really want. I found this out the hard way when I was looking for my first CC gun.

I am torn-between:...Walther P99-SA, in 4" 9mm, a S&W XD? mod.2 in 4" 9mm, and a PPQ M2 4" 9mm.

Hey I really don't think there is a bad choice to be made among these three. Any of these would work for your intended purpose. But I might actually go for that Springfield XD mod.2 over the other 2, since it comes with a Fiber Optic front sight, a nice feature on a range gun!

I agree if you can rent all three and the one that feels the best and you shoot the best with is the one that comes home with you. That said it is hard to beat the PPQ. It has arguably the best trigger straight out of the box. The short reset is what sold me on it. Let us know which one you chose.

Rent as many guns as you can ....but why not just go with a 1911... Sig, Wilson Combat and others make a number of their guns in 9mm ( I know Wilson has a number of models with rails.../ and I think Sig has some 1911's in 9mm with rails too )

If you are considering the PPQ, you really owe it to yourself to check into the HK VP9.

No I am not an HK fan boy, but it has a few interesting features, like full ambi, charging paddles and so on. To me, it appears to be a gun that could be operated regardless of how bad the circumstance was. It is comparable in price to the PPQ as well.

Enjoy the shopping. It is part of the fun.

Just MHO--I LOVE walther ppq and highly recommend trying one if you can. The trigger is light initially but after you get used to it--it is a greats hooter

shot my 5" 9mm ppq yesterday--produced nice quarter sized groups @21 ans 30 feet--makes me feel good all day:D
