I saw a couple adds for the large looped (rifleman style) lever shorty rifles.
I haven't been this excited about any gun in awhile. which is the best and why?

Kind of like this, but I believe it was named the Rancher.

Can anyone provide me with good intel on this?

The gun I saw had a hanging ring on the side of the stock. It was I believe available in 38/357, 44 mag and 45 auto. Handgun loads, but the one which I like could fire 410 shotshells.

I think that is it. There was also a savage offered in the same American rifleman mag. Does anyone here have any insight?

Unless I'm sadly mistaken, Savage doesn't currently make any lever rifles. They made the Model 99 for many years, but it's no longer in production. I believe it went out of production in the '60s. Examples I've seen locally run in the high $300 - low $400 range. Sadly, some are in calibers that are no longer commonly found.

But, to answer your original question, large loop levers can be had as aftermarket parts for very nearly every lever gun currently in production.
