Which RKBA posters to print?

Oleg Volk

Staff Alumnus
I have checked into printing costs and here's what I found:

I can make two hundred sets of five 11x17" posters (same poster, at first). That way postage won't end up being most of the cost.

In color, I would be looking at $20 per set, in B&W about $15 per set of five.

I am only going to do one most popular image to try out this approach. I would like to get feedback as to which three images you'd want to see most. Please post the URL of the thumbnail as opposed to an in-line image or a description. Thanks.

I also looked at doing stationary, post cards with RKBA themes and posters turned out to be most cost-effective.

Please name more than one. The reason for me wanting to have several top choices is that some posters (like "parents") were done with a digicam and are too small for an 11x17. Some can be re-scanned from original negatives, others yet would have to be re-shot. That takes time and money and I'd rather avoid a re-shoot for the first go-around.

PLEASE cut and paste URLs of thumbnails. I barely remember what I have on the site at this point and it took me a while to place "fight back" one.

OK, I need a much higher resolution of the inset image for that. Has anyone an idea of where I could get decent quality images of this sort?

My favorites, in order of printing preference:

It was hard to narrow it down to just these! If I could, I'd have every one of these hanging on the walls of my office.

JeepBear, you can have them all, sort of. Use a color printer and have at it! All of my images are free for the taking, I am only doing a run of posters to accomodate people who want better than inkjet quality.

the insert picture can be resoultion enhansed in photoshop to higher rez

we have the technology

Oleg,

I've always been a big fan of your posters, especially the "colors" one.

Unfortunately, I've always felt that the posters "preached to the choir." and may not be the best way to convert an anti. I think the messages are very sound, and very well put together, but they may be a bit "out there" for some people. I know that your "2 to kill, one to make sure, call 911" poster was put in sort of a grizzly light in the washington post article (imho)

I think a neat idea would be a poster asking people to *support* concealed carry, as opposed to carrying concealed. The reason for the distinction is that I live in a state (Ohio) which doesn't permit CCW, and it could potentially become a hot topic.

The pic with a compact Taurus and speedloader with a thought-provoking message that doesn't sound too "paranoid" to the masses would be interesting. I say paranoid because that is often the arguement I get when I discuss CCW with non-gun folks.

Just a little constructive criticism, what do you think? I'm still a big fan however :)

I re-edited it ( http://www.dd-b.net/olegv/newphotos/lifesavers/s_alive.jpg ) but the changes weren't done well so I will try and make yet another version.

http://www.dd-b.net/olegv/guns/ccw/s_support.jpg something like this, you mean?

I am trying to go through my posters and re-wrod and re-design them to appeal to neutrals. My whole site is getting a re-writing shortly to get away from tech details and into why and for what reason to bother at all.

Oleg,
re: http://www.dd-b.net/olegv/guns/ccw/s_support.jpg

exactly!!! :)

Glad to hear that you're making some "neutral-friendly" versions of your posters. Wouldn't that be something to see one on a billboard someday? :)

I like the new s_alive.jpg version as well.

Since I seem to be in a suggestion mood, I'd love to see a series of your http://www.dd-b.net/RKBA/people/s_60mil.jpg featuring different people who are gunowners. Kind of a visual version of "I'm the NRA."

Please, give me some credit here! ;)
I already have 11"x17" prints of the 'Punch Through' & 'Learn Their Tools' prints. 1440 dpi on glossy paper. Having a wife that does graphic design, we have the technology. It's just that it costs us nine to thirteen bucks a print, depending on the colors. I have been contemplating doing a run at Kinko's or the like, but being out of work has prevented such 'frivolous spending'.

If I had to choose just a couple for mass distribution, it would be either
Two Million
or
Support
.
