First off, I will be mounting a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 scope on my savage stevens model 200 in .308 cal.
So far I've only found enough info to lead me to believe I should just visit my gunsmith with my scope and rifle then match up the proper rings and bases, but I would prefer to just order what I need and forego the local gunsmith since the shop is not exactly friendly.
Besides the rings fitting the scope tube which is 1'' I've read that there are issues with the savage and nikon scopes having difficulties zeroing in on certain distances due to MOA shortcomings with certain bases.
Hopefully the answer to my questions aren't totally obvious, but any advice or technical assistance would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance!
