Just curious as I've been wanting to get a 700 model but can't seem to decide which one. I know the ADL is not free-floated from the factory. Is there any 700 model that is?
I glued a piece of sandpaper on a 1 inch dowel and free floated my VLS in .308. It's not a big deal at least on a wood stock. Don't know about a synthetic.
I did the same thing as Clint, with my VLS, but I probably did it quicker, using a Dremel, flexible shaft, and sanding drum. I also used Marine Tex to bed the recoil lug area and tang.
