I don't like to be one of those people who doesn't answer what you're asking for, but I'm thinking right now that a number of people will suggest spending a few hundred dollars more than your $1,000 budget for a Beretta 68X or a Browning Citori. They are generally considered the starting point at which O/Us are very well made, balanced, and will outlast your grandkids.
That said, I know a number of people like their CZ doubles. Supposedly, those made AFTER 2007 or so are better than older ones. These will be around the $700 range. They may not hold up to thousands of rounds of clays, but it sounds like your gun may not need to.
I can't comment on the SIG. I've never seen or heard of one before.
