I've kinda taken some interest in Single Action Cowboy Shooting. My Question is if any of you was to choose a Single Action in .45 caliber, would you choose a Cimmaron or A.Uberti ? Thanks.
 
I own a NM ruger Vaquero. It's the model previous to the brand new ones. I had handled the Uberti at the time I ordered it. I must say that my Vaquero is the most beautiful gun I have. The balance is great. It's accurate as all get out. And the trigger breaks like a piece of Waterford crystal. It's in .45. This is all straight from the box.

I'd go with Ruger. BTW, I hear they're coming out with "El Ultimo Vaquero" soon. Anyone know what this will look like? Anyway, for single action cowboy guns, Ruger's the best price wise and for durability.
 
Uberti produces MOST of the SAA copies.
Their guns are sold by many different companies under their names, including Cimmarron, and under Uberti's own name.

Apparently, Uberti will make very slightly better or lesser grade finish guns for companies wanting top quality or a slightly lower price.

Companies like Cimmarron and Navy Arms sell the top-of-the-line models, EMF and Dixie seem to have slightly lesser grades.

The guns sold under the Uberti name are always top quality.

Quality-wise the Uberti and Cimmarron are equal in quality
 
I have a Vaquero and a Beretta Stampede. My stampede is by far the better of the two shootin irons. I understand the new Vaquero has fixed some of the issues I have with my Vaquero.

The Charles Daly (made by Uberti) is a very nice cowboy shooter. It's a bit pricey!!! Another one to consider is the Taurus Gaucho...My beautiful Stampede!!!:D

Before you Ruger Worshipers start dumping I also own a GP-100, and a P345...;)

I had looked at Ruger,but some people told me there was a quality issue. Mostly some shoddy part alignments etc. ????? :eek:

My Vaquero is top quality with nice fit and finish. Mine is also an old Vaquero. I haven't seen the New Vaquero, because I can't find one to buy in SS.
