Which one:Sig 228/226, or H&K 9mm C?

I own a H&K .40C, which I really like...a lot. I'm thinking of picking up a 9mm, but can't decide which one. I have owned a Sig Sauer 228 and found it's accuracy to be outstanding (please don't ask why I got rid of it-I don't wan't to feel perplexed and stupid) . I've never owned a 226, but like the balance and feel in my hand. If I buy the H&K Compact, I'll have the advantage of already owning several holsters (for my .40C) that will fit it perfectly.

Decisions, decisions. Which one would be your preference and why? geegee

Plus, you have the added advantage of all your 40 mags ;) I've been using my USPc 9 w/ USPc 40 mags. So far, I'm happy to report 1000+ rounds w/ no failures of any kind :D
My recommendation, get the HK. You already know the manual of arms and you already have accessories that will cross over.

Or, there is option #3...Get both! ;)

All are outstanding firearms, but if I had to narrow the field
down; I would choose the Sig-Sauer P228, or in military terms
the M11. Perfect balance, and as you have already mentioned;
great accuracy. Why else did I pick the P228? I prefer the feel
of the aluminum frame, over that of polymer. Why not the P226?
I don't care for the P226's "European" grip angle; as opposed
to that of the P228. When all is said and done, any of these
choices will make for an excellent firearm. Stay safe, shoot
straight, and have fun-

I really hate DA first shots, so I would... and did... go with the USP9c, but the 226 is an exellent gun.

I have 25,000 rounds through mine with one, very recent, failure. The c-clip on the guide rod broke off. I didn't notice this until I cleaned it because the gun continued to function flawlessly even with the clip missing. I called H&K on a Thursday afternoon and received a new, redesigned guide rod, spring and washer (no c-clip thanks to the redesign) on the following Tuesday.

I have had my Sig 228 for years now. Shoot it all the time and have NEVER had a single mis-feed or any other problem what-so-ever. I think it is the perfect combination of a nice out of the box trigger, concealable size, good accuracy, plenty of capacity (13 rounds) and of course price. I have had many other guns but Sig is still my favorite.

Both good guns. Both accurate and reliable. I give the HK the edge in durability, lighter weight and more compact dimensions. In addition you are already familiar with its MOA which is a lot different than the Sig.

My initial thoughts in response:
1.Use the same mags ? Man, that's huge, as I own more than a couple of 40 cal mags.
2.Familiarity with MOA for the H&K...can't be discounted...great point.
3.Sig's reliability, accuracy, and dependability. I put all of these (in my experience) equal to my H&K.
4. Something I've noticed:there are some pretty good deals on GunsAmerica for used Sigs, with LE mags. Probably break even.
5. WTF?
Predictable outcome: Guess I'll probably wait until a huge moment of weakness strikes me at a Gun Show, and buy the first one of the three I see. Yeah, that's a plan  . geegee
