Which gun to have wife buy me for Birthday?

Well my wife has agreed to buy me a new(used) semi-auto. I have located a Beretta 92 fs and a Sig P-226 for about the same money, from previous deals I have managed to hold on to some hi-cap mags for each gun.
Which would you choose and why...? Thanks for helping me make one of those decisions.:)

I'd go with the Sig as well, but I wouldn't be too terribly dissapointed with the Beretta either.

BTW, can I borrow your wife in August? ;) :D

Both guns are on to buy list, but I think the Beretta would be first just becouse its the military issue side arm. both are good guns.

I would request the world famous Sig P226; in use by
various military organnizations, and law enforcement
agency's world-wide.:D  :)

Ask her to buy one, then buy the other in secret.

No sense in having to choose just one.

However, if your wife is as observant (and gun-savvy) as mine, you should ignore what I just said. :D

I would say the SIG because I like SIG's. I own nine of them. I don't own any Beretta's. You should really get the one that fits your hand the best because that will probably be the one you shoot best.

(how to) Get both.

Here's exactly how you do this:

The setup or the stalk

First, go down to as many gun stores as you can find and start picking up sales literature on some real expensive top shelf guns. Make sure you jot down the suggested retail prices on the front of the literature. Make sure you jot down the prices in an area that kinda hides the prices so she has to look hard to see them(important).

Laying out the decoys

Take her with you(important) and go looking for a birthday present.
Start looking and drooling over things like a Wilson Combat, or an Automag or a Desert Eagle or a Browning Citori. It doesn't matter exactly what gun it is, as long as it's a gun that's more expensive than the other two put together,,,it's something that you actually want(just in case she says OK buy it),,and it won't break your heart or bank account to get it.

The shot

Now that you've set things up and set out the decoys, you're ready to take your best shot. With your wife along, center in on just the 2 guns you want. Nothing else. Make sure you spend a LOT of time trying to decide between the 2 of them. Keep your eye on the ""target""(your wife) so you know when she starts to get fidgety and spooked (boredom starts to set in). Now's the time to pull the trigger! Get this really stupid look on you face,,,something akin to having just discover fire for the first time,,,and reveal to the world,,,aloud,,"Hey, you know, if I buy X, I can buy Y too and still save(use the word save<--prime importance!) enough over the real expensive gun!" The last step is usually uneeded. Usually she'll have long since offered that you get both, and figured out herself that the 2 of them will ""save"" maney over the most expensive gun you want. (2 of something for less than 1 of something is always a great idea in a wife's mind)

Sneaky and underhanded?
Yeah right,,, you take your wife out to shop for a bracelet sometime. Dollars to doughnuts you end up with a bracelet,AND a necklace AND a ring AND a night out to show em off.
:D

WOW, thanks for all the responses gang.. a special thanks to RAE, from Ohio. I will give your suggestion strong consideration. Honestly I think the Sig may be going to get the nod here. decision will not be finalized for about a week yet so any one else got a pick let me know.:)

Kinda msuhy stuff follows:

Joe,
yer welcome ;)

In reality I've been blessed with a wonderful wife that's bought me 3 guns on one occasion and 2 on another when I really couldn't decide between them. Honestly, I'd have been or would be as happy with even a Jennings or a Super Soaker if it came from her. :D

Bottom line most important thing (to me anyhow) is that she enjoys going to the range with me no matter what I (we) shoot. Barring that, at least something that she gave me lets me take a lottle bit of her along.

It all goes back to the wedding gift she gave me when we were married. She knew I enjoyed fishing, but didn't know what kind of rod to get me. She told one of my friends to pick up "the best fishing rod" he could. The look on her face when I unwrapped an Ugly stick, and said (honestly flat faced with some awe that she'ed get something like that) " An Ugly Stick!!". She thought I was calling it ugly, by the look of disappointment on her face. After I assured her it was just the name, and it was a great fishing rod,,,,,, :D

yep, that's my Amazon Temptress! Whatta ya do with someone like that other than love, honor and cherish em forever? Whatever your's gets ya enjoy it.

Back on topic. You asked for other suggestions. Have you looked at the CZ's? Their quality is right up there with more expensive guns.
