Which GPS unit

I am wanting to get my first GPS unit . What would be the best model for 80% highway use 20% woods use ? The prices have came down so much I figured I had better have one . I want to keep the price below about $225 . Thanks , Mike...

There are a lot of reviews on the net. I recently got a Magellan 315 for $150 which I use for backpacking and bicycling. It's a great deal for the price. See for example: http://joe.mehaffey.com/mag-315.htm

I just got the Magellan 2000 XL back from my pilot son--had to buy him off with a $1000 aviation unit to get it from him. The original cost 2 yrs ago was $150 and it did a fine job for him in the air. I am now learning to use it for jeep trails and general map work and it seems like a winner. Had a 1st generation Magellan which was a loser--luckily I was able to return it for a full refund. This one seems to be a very nice unit.
