Which Glock 9mm To Buy...

I plan on purchasing a Glock 9mm in the very near future. I have never owned a Glock, but have heard nothing but good things about them from people who own them. I would appreciate any advice that I can get from experienced Glock owners, as to which model is the best and most reliable.
THANKS,
MR.G

Whether it's a 17, 17L, 19, 26, or 34, it's a 9mm Glock and is the most reliable brand/caliber combo I have ever used.

Whatcha want it for? Carry? Ankle carry? Competition? Target?

The G19 fits the bill for both concealed carry or as a medium sized service sidearm. While the G17 feels alright in my hand, the G19 fits just right. It is a pure joy to fire and carry.

Hello Mr. G,

Today, I picked up my new Glock after doing significant research on this matter. As part of this "research", the G17 and G19 were fired.

The Glock will be my survival gun. One of the things that I considered was the availability of ammunition. The 9mm is the most widely used ammo worldwide and it is NATO standard.

Another thing that was considered is spare parts availability. I believe that there are more G17's in the field than any other Glock. This means that in a TEOTWAWKI scenario, it will be easier to get spare parts and magazines if your local gun shop does not happen to be open!

Which Glock did I buy?.......G17

Mk.IV

I like the 19 & have one. I couldn't find a reason to buy the full size one( G17) over the 19. They 19 is described by Glock as a compact but it is not a small pistol. The Glock 26 is called a subcompact & is better for concealed carry.

Another vote for the 19. Glock 19 was my first carry gun. Don't have it any more, because I'm not overly fond of the Glock trigger for general shooting purposes - just not my cup o' tea. The 19 is a good size for concealment, but also big enough that it's a fun target pistol as well. Were I ever to buy another Glock, it'd be another 19.

I like the G17 myself (just bought one), but some folks like the 19 better. It's a little smaller, but the same width. I would try the 17 and 19, and think about getting a 26 for CC if you're sticking with Glock for everything :).

The G19 is the best all-rounder in the lineup. If CCW is not an issue and the gun will be only for range use/home defense, then the 17 or one of the longslides may be better. If CCW is the primary criteria, then the G26 has the edge. But if you need a gun that you can shoot targets with at the range, then stuff into an IWB holster for the trip home, then take out and clamp a tactical light on for a "nightstand gun", than the G19's the one for you.

most importantly hold all the different models

its all in the way it fits ur hands

i own glocks , sigs, BHP's

glock for CCW
sigs for feel and reliability
BHP accuracy

G19

I have both the G17 and G19, but if I had to choose one, I would go with the G19. You can put the G19 in your pocket if you are wearing dockers and it conceals well in the right holster. The G17 is a real fun plinker and so I like it but it is to big for CCW.

I tried a G26 and it felt too weird in my hand. I went with the Kahr MK9 for a real small thin 9mm.
