Which compact tupperware 9?

I am considering the purchase of a polymer compact 9 mm.
I know of the Keltec p11, Talon 200, Standard Arms sa 9 and
Taurus pt111. Any guns I have missed?

Now for the fun question. Which is the gun you would buy.
I know current Kel tecs are good guns..plenty of info.
Talon is pretty new and having some teething probs.
I have no idea about Stand. Arms..seems local dealers get a spiff
to push them down your throat..."Keltec suck...these rock" great
sales tactics. Instant turn off....
The Taurus is a good gun, using feedback from friends, gun rags
etc...

Thanks for any info and opinions.....Shoot well

I am very partial to the Glock 26...a hair bigger than the P11, but still small enough to be invisible on the body, while retaining all the good Glock features of high capacity, durability, and total reliability. The baby Glocks are amazing little guns, easy to shoot and very accurate, and they will also accept the 15- or 17-round magazines of their bigger siblings if needed.

The Taurus is not bad, but its main drawbacks are a trigger pull which has been described as "pulling a piano across a gravel road with your index finger", and they also have a field stripping procedure which can leave the most stoic person in tears.

Heh heh, UT83, I can tell you've worked in commission sales yourself -- not many people use the word "spiff".

I second 38Mike's recommendation, if you have the $$$ then the Kahr P9 is the ne plus ultra of the bunch. Of the brands you name I am most familiar with Kel-Tec and I can tell you that their customer service is excellent.

Other brands:

Beretta's new polymer 9000S has gotten poor reviews (which is to say the gun writers didn't actually suggest it would fix dinner and cure acne).

Heritage Arms makes the Stealth in 9mm or .40S&W. They're known as "the poor man's Glock" but I know 2 guys who have them, and they do work. See it at:

ut83,

The Kahr P9 is single stack pistol, comes with two 7 round mags, and the mags themselves are very solid. The grip has got to be the slimmest (slimmest ?) of any 9mm pistol out there. Mine has the stainless slide; easy to clean and maintain. If you can find one, check it out to see how it fits your hand. I'm closing in on 1000 rounds through mine without a hitch...

The only drawback is the price...a little on the high side....

I'd avoid a Talon(wish they were good) or Standard Arms.A Hi-Point would be a much wiser choice or possibly a Heritage Stealth as mentioned above.

Now for the fun question. Which is the gun you would buy.

I think if I had three fingers and a thumb like Mickey Mouse I would get the Kel Tec. As it is I have four fingers and they just don't fit on the micro tupperware 9's. Also the thumb of the off hand keeps getting in the way of the slide.

No real way of remedying the problem except with a slightly bigger gun or getting a Kel Tec and magazine extension.

Size is an issue, but a minor one in this case. I am throwing around the idea of a lighter gun. I would love a Kahr and may
save my pennies. Shoot well

another vote to check out the heritage stealth

it actually has an external safety that works in the right direction (down for off) and has a 10 round capacity (mags by mec-gar) in 9mm

comfortable ploymer grip and stainless slide...gas retarded action
