Which bullet ?

I wanted to ask what is your most accurate bullet for reloading 223 cal for use in an AR with 1 in 8 twist 16 inch barrel ?
Also same question with a 1 in 9 twist 20 inch barrel ?

Every gun, every chamber, and every barrel is different. Only way to tell is trial and error. With that out of the way I've found that in my varmit ar with a 1/8 twist I get the best accuracy with Sierra's 69gn HPBT.

If I were to bet on one bullet for both of those rifles I would choose the 69gr Sierra HP Match King as TMD suggests. My 20" 1 in 9 is also extremely accurate with Sierra 53gr HP match king (#1400 flat base), those don't shoot quite as well in the 1 in 7.7 but still very well - very small difference. The 69s are amazing in all 3 of my 20" ARs, I haven't actually tried for small groups with the Carbine but I'd be surprised if it weren't similar. It's a great bullet IMO but of course every barrel can be a little different with its likes

If you buy budget bullets, try 55 and 62 grainers and see what plays out for the two. 55 and 62 usually have sales and free shipping and frequently work w/ both 1:8 and 9. LIke it's been said, every chamber is different.

If I was you I would purchase several boxes of factory ammo of various bullet weights and shoot groups and see what your rifles like. If you reload already do the same with different weights and charges. I'm sure you will find out what they like best.

1 in 8 twist... 23.6 grains of IMR 3031 with Hornady 55 grain FMJ 2.250 COL is my range load.. shoots very good, also 50 Grain Siera varmit grenades with 24.0 grains of IMR 3031 2.250 COL... both loads are well within Hornady's load range and they shoot great. The Varmit Grenade does wonders on melons and squash ! They explode !

I use Hornady Vmax for target and rodents.
This is the 223 category.

I use Nosler ballistic tip for ruminants.
This is the 7mmRemMag category

I use Speer Gold dot for self defense.
This is the 380 mouse gun category.

I use CCI CB shorts for shooting pests when the wife is asleep.
This is 22 rifle. Cannot be semi auto, not even a 550-B with sliding half chamber will always cycle these. 0.45 gr of powder.

My friends and relatives disagree with all of the above.
