Which armies use the CZ pistols?

Czech, maybe?

Oleg's the closest thing to a CZ expert we have here. If he doesn't have any info, maybe Harley Nolden could help.

Not many. The CZ page states that some 15 countries use their pistols. Yet this isn't entirely true. What they mean is that some police forces in some countries use their pistols.

Turkey (also their national police)
Lithuania (their national police too)
Guatemala
Russia (some special units-or so an article in Combat Hanguns claimed a few years ago.)

I'll second (third) the easy one...when shooting against members of the Czech Army years go, they were all using CZ75's.

They found it amusing that I used a CZ85 instead of an M9...

CZs are great sidearms. Now that they are gaining prominence it would not surprise me to see more and more nations using them at some level.

I dont know about now, but when I was in the Army (2ACR 63-67)keeping an eye on the Czech borader I do recall seeing what look like CZ52's on the other side. But that as a long time ago and I never got close look. :)

I got some little plastic dudes who have something that looks like a CZ, does that count?

A "Miss" is the ultimate overpenetration!
You can never be too rich, too skinny, or too well armed!

It's hard to tell from just observing them-and not at the time being interested to ask.
I'm pretty sure that the Portugese Army uses
the CZ--on the other hand there are so many clones about.Perhaps a call to the nearest CZ
supplier would clear things up.
There is no doubt in my mind that the CZ is an exceptionally good and reliable service pistol--hard to think of anything as good for
ease of operation and maintenance and the fit
and pointability is outstanding.

CZ faces extreme competition from many different companies, some better established. The dominant player currently is Glock. They offer prices below anyone else, provide three mags with their pistols instead of one or two, and give support that makes other companies pale. Other companies like Beretta and SIG Sauer, while more expensive than Glock and CZ, offer bonuses such as more mags to attract customers. When you're thinking of buying 10,000 or more pistols even a $10 savings per unit in the form of mags and accesories can determine selection.
