which .45 auto? SIG P220S, Wilson Protector, or USP match?

My vote is for the Wilson Protector in stainless. Very nice.

Get one for me while you're at it, ok?

thequickad: where can you get a Wilson Protector for around $1k. I want another one at that price, their price start at $1695.

The protector is a $1700 pistol but it is a much nicer piece than the other two you mentioned.

Get a USP expert. Precise, very nice trigger, safety, adjustable
sightsno play in the parts. The newer versions are even better.

The drawback is it's simply large.

For your out of the box accuracy the SIG will probably be the most accurate. Personally I've never evel held a Wilson but do prefer the balance of the SIG over the H&K.

I found the SIG P220 Sport for $850 and the HK USP Match for $799 at CDNN. The Wilson is $1695 listed, not sure what their discount level is for FFL?

Do Wilsons give you back rubs or something?
Just can't see paying 1700 bucks for a handgun that is only as reliable as a 1911! Get either the Sig or the HK.

I have a SIG p229 sport and love it. I am already saving up for the 220 sport version. The workmanship on my p229 sport is nearly the quality of my Baer's and the accuracy is nearly as good (but that may be the cartraige)!

Go for the SIG!

I considered the 220 sport, custom 1911, and the USP match a while back. The match is a discontinued gun. It has a front barrel weight, which has the word "match" printed on it in this goofy blue font. It is not even a compensator. It feels like a big plastic gun with a piece of aluminum in front. The trigger is very USP-esque, which I don't really like, even though it has a trigger over-travel stop mechanism. If you love the USP, I think getting the newer expert makes more sense.

The sig 220 S is the choice I made in the end. It is truly an amazing gun that shoots ridiculously well. Trigger is very smooth, and the kicks very little. The compensator looks like an afterthought because it is a different shade of silver than the rest of the gun. The gun looks huge, and is very easy to hold steady. Accuracy is unbelievable with Fiocchi target ammo, which runs <$200/1000. I got my gun through CDNN as thequickad pointed out. By the way, the 220 sport "feels" like a completely different gun than the standard 220.

Accurized, compensated custom 1911s are beautiful guns. But $850 won't buy you much.
