for hunting deer, hog, and the occassional coyote:

1. 100gr Rem. Core-lokt
2. 95gr Federal Fusion
3. 85gr Sierra Game King BTHP

Whichever one your particular gun shoots best. My .243 happens to shoot the Remington Core-lokt pretty good, when I'm not shooting my reloads or Federal Premium. Right now the problem is finding any of the 3 on any given store shelf to compare the three. All three will kill deer at ranges you should be shooting at with a .243.

Balistic tip for coyote, barnes X for deer and hog . With the X bullet size is not as important it will do the job.It will always stay in one piece and mushroom nicely. Nosler has the new e bullet which is there version of a x and winchester buys the rights to there version.

I couldn't say for sure.

It's been many years since I shot a factory loaded .243 cartridge. In fact, I can't remember the last time.

Dad had a box or two when we were out calling coyotes in the early 1990's, and he/we were shooting it up for the brass. I only remember because he had one cartridge that misfired, and I killed the pair of coyotes that came in. A few minutes later, he took a third coyote from another pair that came in. Niether of us connected on that fourth one, but we sure warmed it's tail on the way out.

Those were 100 gr Remington Core-Lokt, and I don't remember if I was shooting them too, or just dad.

But, back on topic, any of them will kill a deer fine, as long as you hit it right.

#3 is as accurate as my handloads with that bullet. 20+ tagged bucks and maybe that many coyotes say that it works...
